Renewing the EU electricity grid: the “Best Paths” towards energy transition

Brussels (Belgium)

Renewable energies accounted for 17% of energy consumption in Europe in 2016 and this share is expected to reach at least 32% by 2030, following the agreement on the revised Renewable Energy Directive. How can we ensure that energy coming from remote areas and intermittent sources reaches European consumers with minimal losses?

On behalf of the Best Paths consortium, it is our pleasure to invite you to the Conference “Renewing the EU electricity grid: the Best Paths towards energy transition”, organised by Greenovate! Europe on 20 September 2018 at the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie in Brussels.

This Conference is the chance for energy professionals, policy makers, and researchers to discuss how to have suitable electricity grids for the integration of more renewables, with a look at investment opportunities and policy options to make the energy transition happen.

Top experts from the energy sector will also introduce the breakthroughs in transmission technologies developed during the last four years of Best Paths, the largest energy research project funded by the European Commission in the last decade.  Join our event to share your views and shape the energy landscape of tomorrow.

Registration and agenda will be available in the coming weeks.
